Dr. James Norbury was born in Massachusetts and raised in Seattle, Washington. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Washington State University and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Norbury completed his Ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and Parkland Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Norbury served in the U.S. Army as both a medical student and physician. He was a Battalion Surgeon during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia and Iraq where he was awarded a Bronze Star. Before returning to the Dallas area, Dr. Norbury practiced Ophthalmology in Georgia and Arkansas.
Dr. Norbury is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the Texas Ophthalmological Association and the Dallas Academy of Ophthalmology. As a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist, Dr. Norbury performs routine eye care, as well as, treating patients with acute and chronic eye diseases including ocular infections, diabetes, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. He and his wife live in Prosper. Dr. Norbury sees patients at both the McKinney and Allen practice locations.
